Cajuns Open Homestand on Wednesday

After a three-game sweep at South Alabama last weekend, the 18th ranked Ragin' Cajuns return home to begin a six-game homestand, starting with Centenary on Wednesday.
The Cajuns and Ladies will play a single game at 6:00 p.m. at Lamson Park. Be aware that is different than originally scheduled. The two squads were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m.
UL (32-6) comes into Wednesday's contest as winners of four straight and nine of their last ten. Centenary (4-25) enters after suffering a three-game sweep at the hands of UMKC.

Game Day Storylines
- The Cajuns return home to begin a six-game homestand as they welcome Centenary to town. The Cajuns enter the doubleheader with a 16-1 home record.
- UL and Centenary have not played since 2005. The Cajuns are 39-1 all-time against the Ladies including a 23-0 mark at Lamson Park. UL has won the last 30 meetings between the two squads.
- The Cajuns sweep of South Alabama last weekend marked their 38th sweep in 64 all-time Sun Belt series. The three wins kept the Cajuns atop the Sun Belt standings at 10-2 in league play, a game ahead of Florida Atlantic who sits at 9-3.
- UL is hitting .344 as a team, with Christi Orgeron (.440) and Gabriele Bridges (.435) leading the way. The two have combined for 31 home runs, 109 RBI and 65 walks.
- The Cajuns pitching staff comes in with a 1.78 team ERA, the only ERA under 2.00 in the Sun Belt. Christina Hamilton leads the way with a 1.24 mark while ace Ashley Brignac is not far behind with a 1.34 mark and an 18-3 record.

Centenary
- The Ladies were swept at home by in three games by UMKC in conference action this past weekend. Prior to that CC had won two straight.
- Centenary is led offensively by Bonnie Matak who leads the squad with a .311 batting average and three home runs. She is the only Lady hitting over .300. The Ladies are hitting .202 as a team.
- In the circle, Lauren Highsmith has started 23 of Centenary's 29 games and has a 2-18 record with a 10.17 ERA. Lynsi Unruh has 22 appearances and is 2-6 with a 6.52 ERA. The Ladies come in with a 9.44 staff ERA.
- The Cajuns are 39-1 all-time against the Ladies, including a 23-0 mark in Lafayette. The Cajuns have won the last 30 meetings overall, but the two squads have not played since 2005.
Last Time Out
South Alabama (3-0)
- The Cajuns sweep of South Alabama, who entered in second place in the league, marked UL's second Sun Belt sweep this season and 38th all-time. Those 38 have come in 64 series, meaning UL has swept over half of its SBC series. In the series, the Cajuns outscored USA 28-5 while pounding out 29 hits and drawing 23 walks.
- Game 1: The Cajuns drew seven walks and had seven hits while Ashley Brignac threw a complete game in a 5-1 victory. Paige Cormier led the Cajuns with two hits.
- Game 2: The Cajuns stranded 11 runners in the first six innings and entered the seventh ahead 3-2. In the seventh, UL exploded for 10 runs on eight hits as they downed the Jags 13-2. Nerissa Myers and Katie Smith each had three hits and combined to score five runs.
- Game 3: UL got on the board early, scoring three in the first and six in the second to take a 9-2 lead. The Cajuns added one in the fourth and won the game 10-2 in five innings. Brianna Cherry posted a career high five RBI.
