Thanks to their 5-0 record at the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational last weekend, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball team has climbed in both of this week's Top-25 polls that were announced on Tuesday.

The Cajuns (10-0) have moved from 16th to 15th in the USA Today/NFCA poll and from 19th to 17th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.

The complete Top-25 polls can be seen at the links above.

The Cajuns also grabbed an individual award as Taryn Broussard was named the LSWA Hitter of the Week.

Broussard became just second player in UL and Sun Belt history to hit three home runs in a game when she did so against Tennessee State on Friday.  The first was Gabriele Bridges who did so just a week earlier.

In all, Broussard posted a .412 batting average (7-for-17) with five runs scored, four home runs and 10 RBI on the weekend.

The honor marks the second consecutive week that a UL player was named the LSWA Hitter of the Week, as Bridges grabbed the award last week.

The award is also the second individual earned by the Cajuns this week as Christina Hamilton was named the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

The 15th ranked Cajuns will return to action on this weekend when they travel to Lake Charles to begin play at the McNeese Cowgirl Classic.  UL is set to take on Southern and Jackson State on Friday at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Both games can be heard on ESPN Radio KPEL 1420AM with Steve Peloquin calling the action.
