Three players shot under par and Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns golf team posted its lowest round at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate on Tuesday but it was not enough to overcome Monday's rounds.

The Cajuns finished the two-day tournament in 12th place after shooting 286 (-2) on Tuesday. On Monday, UL struggled with its game in the morning round, shooting 312 (+24) before carding a 295 (+7) in the afternoon.

"We really did ourselves a disservice on Monday," said UL head golf coach Theo Sliman. "We dug ourselves in a hole and did not play well. But I'm proud of how the guys came out today and responded. They refocused their efforts and played well. But we've got to get off to a better start. We've got to learn from this and move forward."

Two players, Philipp Fendt and Andrew Noto, both turned in 2-under rounds of 70 to solidify top-20 finishes.

Fendt, rated the No. 70 collegiate player in the nation by golfstat.com, struggled on Monday after shooting 77-73 (+6). He finished the day in a tie for 29th place. But Tuesday's round of 70 vaulted Fendt into a tie for 15th - his 12th straight top-20 finish. The Austrian native found himself as high as sixth place on Tuesday, but back-to-back bogeys on the 17th and 18th hole spoiled his final round.

Noto started the day in a tie for 35th place after shooting 77-74 (+7) on Monday. His round of 70 shot him up 15 spots to finish in a tie for 20th place. It was his ninth straight top-25 finish. Noto entered the week, ranked No. 98 in the nation by golfstat.com.

Chris Weninger was the third Cajuns to post in the red numbers, firing off a 71 (-1) on Tuesday. But Monday's rounds of 77-78 handicapped Weninger, who finished in a tie for 44th.

Middle Tennessee's Jason Millard claimed medalist honors after shooting a course record round of 63 (-9) on Tuesday to finish at 205 (-11) for the event.

The Blue Raiders also walked away with the team title with a score of 863 (-6). Kentucky (874), No. 48 Charlotte (879), Akron (879) and Vanderbilt (881) rounded out the top five in the 15-team field.

Also scoring for the Cajuns were Ethan Savoy (226) and Garrett Westbrook (237).

Next on the slate, UL will play host for the 26th Annual Louisiana Classics. This year's tournament will be held from Mar. 7-8 at Oakbourne C.C. in Lafayette, La.
