Track Wraps Up Houston Invite Events

Thibeaux collected his second - and fourth career for indoor track - first place finish this season in the triple jump. His jump of 50-2 ¾ bested his previous indoor personal best of 49-11 at last season's Sun Belt Indoor Championships.
Anderson matched her season-opening and school record mark of 8.38 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles. She placed fourth and had the fastest time of all collegiate competitors.
Anderson ran the 60 meter dash for the first time this season and her time of 7.69 placed her ninth. She bested Sun Belt foe Missy Barnes of North Texas (7.70).
Jacob Domingue finished as runner-up in the men's shot put. Domingue's throw of 55-8 ½ was his 2011 season best. Albert Fornette recorded his first throw of the season and joined Domingue in the Top 10 with a mark of 53-7 which established his new personal best.
Breshaud Woodard (8.40 - 60m hurdles) and Kenneth Bellard (47-11 - triple jump) were the other Top 10 finishers for the Cajuns on the men's side.
Tarvia Conway, daughter of UL great and Olympian Hollis Conway, registered her first career mark in the triple jump with a leap of 36-9 ½.
Casey Comeaux completed the men's heptathlon with 3,792 points and placed 13th overall. Comeaux's best events mark of the day was a 12th-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles (9.41 - 658 pts).
The Cajuns men and women took in their first 4x400 relay races of the 2011 indoor campaign. Justin Jones, Shaquelle Cretan, Chris Raborn, DeMarcus Runnels ran a time of 3:28.21 on the men's side. Amanda Roberts, Krystal Chevis, April Colomb, Jasmine Anderson combined for a time of 4:00.41 on the women's side.
UP NEXT
The Ragin' Cajuns make the short trip to Lake Charles for the Jeff Davis Bank Cowboy Invite II hosted by McNeese State on Friday, Feb. 4. The meet will be held at the McNeese State Indoor Recreation Complex which is located on the main campus off Common Street. The meet begins at 1 p.m. with the weight throws.
