Cajuns Make Up Ground In Second Round

After struggling through gusting winds in the first round, Louisiana's golf team rebounded in the second round to jump into the top-10 at the Kansas Invitational on Monday.

The Cajuns shot 302 to open the day before firing off a 294 and jumping from 13th place into a tie for ninth.

Philipp Fendt leads the Cajuns after shooting 76-71 (+3) to sit in a tie for 21st place.

Christoph Weninger sits two strokes back at 149 in a tie for 30th.

Andrew Noto followed suite shooting 76-73 and finding himself in a tie for 35th overall.

Teammate Kelsey Angelle is tied with Noto in his first career start, carding 74-76 on the day.

Peter Lamaris shot 155 on the day to closeout the scoring for UL.

Nebraska leads the field with a two-round total of 578. The Cornhuskers' Scott Willman sits atop the leaderboard at 4-under.

The Cajuns will tee off again in on Tuesday morning in the final round of the tournament.
