With the conclusion of fall camp, UL resumes a regular season schedule beginning with classes on Monday.

Fall Sports Fan Day, sponsored by Mid-South Bank, is set for Sunday, Aug. 22 from 5-7 p.m. at Cajun Field.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet and collect autographs from the Ragin' Cajuns football, soccer and volleyball players and coaches. This year the athletics department is utilizing a different entrance. Fans are asked to enter Cajun Field through Gate E, located near the corner of Reinhardt Drive and Cajundome Boulevard.

Quarterback Chris Masson connected on nine passes for 111 yards. The junior tossed a scrimmage-high, 48-yard touchdown pass to Darryl Surgent on the third series of the first half.

Junior Brad McGuire connected on seven completions for 59 yards in his first scrimmage at quarterback this fall. McGuire, a native of Gulf Breeze, Fla., threw a four-yard goal line touchdown to Jacob Maxwell. Maxwell caught three passes for 31 yards.

True freshman Kevis Streeter led the rushing attack thanks to a team-best 44-yard touchdown run in the first half. Veteran Aaron Spikes followed with seven touches for 26 yards and a touchdown. Robert Walker notched 17 yards and Julian Shankle ran for 11 yards, including a four-yard goal line score.

The offense was held to 2.0 yards-per-carry.

The defense managed five sacks in the contest, two of which were registered by Daylon McCoy. The senior finished with two sacks and a pass break up. Grant Fleming and Orkeys Auriene each collected a solo sack, while Derrick Dean and Devon Lewis-Buchanan combined for a sack.

Kyron Benoit collected the defense's lone turnover on the day with a interception in the first-half.

On special teams, two blocked two field goals were the highlight, as Le'Marcus Gibson and Lance Kelley each stuffed a kick.  Maurice Rolle, Jr. returned Kelley's blocked field goal for a defensive touchdown.

Kicker's Tyler Albrecht  and Brett Baer both connected on 33-yard field goals.

INJURY UPDATE: The Cajuns learned that true freshman Hunter Stover from Notre Dame H.S. has a torn ACL and will likely miss the entire 2010 season...Senior offensive lineman Nasser Jamal and sophomore cornerback Rodney Gillis both sustained knee injuries in the scrimmage...Jamal's injury is not series and he is considered day-to-day, but Gillis was not as fortunate...He was sent for an MRI on a possible ACL tear...Results will not be available until Monday.
