Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns cold shooting at the beginning of each half cost the team in a 90-67 loss at North Texas on Wednesday evening.

UL drops to 9-20 (4-13), while NT improves to 8-20 (5-12).

The Mean Green used two spurts, a 10-0 run and an 11-0 run in the first 11 minutes of the second half to put the game away.

Four players scored in double figures for North Texas, who dominated the Cajuns on the glass, 58-33.  Denetra Kellum led the Mean Green with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Jasmine Godbolt had 16 points and 12 boards.

The Cajuns were led by Alexis Green, who scored 24 points.  Mercedes Johnson had 14 points, five rebounds, four steals, three assists and a block.  Jamie Gunter scored 11 points and Jasmine Barnes added 10 points.  Point guard Nicole Morris led the team with six rebounds.

A tight back-and-forth game in the first half, North Texas used its' 10-0 run to build a 50-36 lead with 16:15 remaining.  The Cajuns missed their first seven shots in the second stanza.

Baskets from Johnson, Barnes and Gunter preceded a triple by D'Mya Clay that helped the Cajuns to a 9-4 spurt.  That run helped UL cut its' deficit to single digits, 54-45, with 12:43 to play.

The Mean Green followed with 11 straight points to push their lead to 65-45 at the 9:09 mark.

UL started the second half with 4-of-18 shooting (22 percent).  Meanwhile, North Texas started 11-of-17 from the floor (65 percent).

Green kept the Cajuns in the game in the first half, pouring in 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting.

Neither team scored more than two consecutive baskets in the opening 10 minutes of the game, but the Mean Green slowly built a lead.  The Cajuns trailed 18-13, due in most part to 25 percent shooting (5-of-20).

The first team to score three straight times was the Cajuns, who went 9-of-16 (56 percent) from the floor in the final nine minutes of the first half.  UL ended the first 20 minutes on a 7-0 run to cut their deficit to 40-36 at the break.

UL finishes the regular season on Saturday in Denver.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. (CT).
