Green Named to Mackey Midseason List

The 2010 John Mackey Award midseason watch list has been released by the Nassau County Sports Commission, and included on the list is Cajuns junior tight end Ladarius Green. He is one of just 22 players from around the nation to make the list.

The Pensacola, Fla. native, despite missing two games due to injury, leads the Cajuns this season with 318 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His 18 receptions rank second on the team.
The 2010 campaign marks the second consecutive season that Green bas been recognized on the midseason match list. He was also named to preseason watch list prior to this season.
Given annually to the best collegiate tight end, the John Mackey Award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. The 2010 John Mackey winner will be announced on December 9, 2010. Other key dates include the announcement of the 2010 Mackey semi-finalists on November 15, 2010 and the announcement of the 2010 Mackey finalists on November 22, 2010. The John Mackey Award midseason watch list is an update from the preseason watch list. This list is meant to draw attention to tight ends in contention for the annual award based on their performance in the first half of the season.
The John Mackey Award, has been presented annually since 2000 and has been given to tight ends such as Dallas Clark, Kellen Winslow, Heath Miller and Marcedes Lewis.
