The Ragin' Cajuns golf team could not overcome a day of sloppy conditions as the Cajuns finished in 14th-place after the final round at the David Toms Intercollegiate in Baton Rouge, La. on Tuesday afternoon.
UL finished at the back of the field after posting a three-day total of 892 (+40).
Philipp Fendt was the top-finisher for the Cajuns, winding up in tie for 28th-place. After posting back-to-back, under-par rounds, Fendt struggled on the final day and carded a 78 to finish at 216 (+3).
The rest of the UL squad had trouble on the last day with Andrew Noto finishing at 8-over (221) and in a tie for 52nd-place. Kyle Pritchard and Mark Brockhurst both posted rounds of 229 (+16), while Thomas Petts finished one stroke behind at 230.
Jade Scott of Rice University won the medalist honors, shooting a final round of 65 to finish at 9-under par for the tournament.
Louisiana State won the team title with a total of 844 (-8). The University of North Florida (845), Kent State (845), Ole Miss (859), Rice (851) and Southeastern Louisiana (851) rounded out the top-five.
The Cajuns will hit the links again on Nov. 2 at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate in Springfield, La. The tournament will mark the end of UL's fall season.
