Bustle's squad opens the 2007 season Saturday, Sept. 1, when the Cajuns travel to Columbia, S.C., to face the South Carolina Gamecocks. USC will be the first of five opponents for the Cajuns this season who played in bowl game last season. The Gamecocks defeated Houston 44-36 in the Liberty Bowl.
Following their trip to South Carolina, UL will enjoy a three-game homestand, beginning with the Ohio Bobcats and ending with defending Sun Belt champion Troy. It makes the first three-game homestand since 2005, when the Cajuns met Northwestern State, UCF and Florida Atlantic. In fact, Bustle's team has enjoyed a three-game homestand in each of his previous five seasons, except for 2006.
The Cajuns-Gamecocks season opener is also available nationally on DIRECTV channel 778. Fans will need to purchase the ESPN Game Plan individual day subscription or season package. The game is subject to a national blackout map which DIRECTV will post late this week.
