LAFAYETTE-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's golf team announced their 2007-08 golf schedule.  The schedule is highlighted by a pair of tournaments hosted by the Cajuns.

The Ragin' Cajuns golf team will play in five tournaments in the fall and seven tournaments in the spring.

“It is our typical schedule,” head coach Bob Bass stated.  “We are going to be playing in a lot of good golf tournaments against a lot of good teams all over the country and close by.

“We have to hit the ground running,” Bass added.  “I think we have some people who are here now who got some playing experience last year and should be able to step up and we have some players coming in that should be able to come in and add to it.”

The defending Sun Belt Conference champions will open the golf season at the Mean Green Invitational hosted by SBC rival North Texas on Sept. 10.

The Cajuns will travel to Rhode Island for the Adams Cup on Sept. 24-26, before heading to the Memphis Intercollegiate on Oct. 8-9.

UL returns to Louisiana for a pair of tournaments to close out the fall season.

The Ragin' Cajuns will once again compete in the Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Classic on Oct. 15-16.

On Nov. 4-6, the Cajuns will host their annual fall tournament, the Battle on the Bend.  The three-day tournament will played at Cypress Bend Golf Club in Many, La.

The golf team returns to action in the spring with a pair of tournaments in February.  The Cajuns open at the Guadalajara Intercollegiate in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Feb. 17-18, before competing in the All-American Intercollegiate on Feb. 25-26.

The Ragin' Cajuns will play host to the 22nd Louisiana Classics on March 10-11.  The tournament hosted at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette highlights the spring schedule for the Cajuns.

The Cajuns waste little time returning to action as they compete on March 13-15 in the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas.

UL finishes March with the Carter Plantation Invitational hosted by Southeastern Louisiana on March 24-25.

The Cajuns' final tune up before the Sun Belt Conference Championships takes place on April 7-8, as UL heads to Jonesboro, Ark. to play in the Indian Classic, hosted by fellow SBC member Arkansas State.

On April 21-23, the Ragin' Cajuns will look to defend their 2007 Sun Belt Conference title at the SBC Championships.
