The Cajuns honored eight seniors who dressed out for their final regular season home game at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field.

The Cajuns' seniors made the most of their final home game.  All five Ragin' Cajuns senior position players collected at least one hit on the day, while a pair of senior hurlers worked 7.1 innings.

Jefferies Tatford led the Cajuns offensively with four hits on the afternoon including his 10th homerun of the season.  Tatford finished the day 4-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI.  The Lafayette senior also collected a pair of doubles on the day.

Seniors Matt Casbon and Tim Santiago both collected a pair of hits in the game.  Casbon was also hit by a pitch and drove in two runs.

Devon Bourque and Devery Van De Keere both added a hit a piece in their final home game.  Bourque collected a pair of sacrifice bunts on the day to into sole possession of first place in the Cajuns' career sacrifice hits list.

Senior Kyle Mickles earned his first win as a Cajuns pitcher in his first career start.  He worked a career high 5.1 innings of work.  The Baton Rouge native scattered seven hits on the day, while striking out three batters.  He surrendered four runs, but earned the win as the Cajuns never trailed in the game.

Mickles was relieved by fellow senior Matt Pilgreen.  The Shreveport senior scattered four hits in 2.0 innings of work, giving up just one run.  Pilgreen struck out one batter while walking another.

Aside from the seniors, Jonathan Lucroy and Nolan Gisclair both added a pair of hits, while Justin Robichaux closed out the game on the mound.

Lucroy moved into a tie for first place in the Cajuns record books with his 53r)d career double.  He added a single while scoring a run and driving in another.

After hitting a grand slam in the Cajuns 28-3 game against the Trojans, Gisclair followed that performance with a 2-for-4 day.  He reached base four times on the day, hitting a double and a triple, reaching on a fielder's choice and being hit by a pitch.   Gisclair scored a pair of runs and also added an RBI.

Robichaux worked the last 1.2 innings of the game.  He did not allow a hit and struck out a batter.

The Cajuns wasted little time and jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning.  Xavier Alexander led off the game with a walk.  Bourque moved the runner over with his first sacrifice bunt of the day.  An RBI double by Lucroy put the Cajuns on the scoreboard.  A second consecutive double plated Lucroy.  Gisclair scored Tatford with a triple to right centerfield.  An RBI single by Casbon capped off the scoring for UL in the inning.

A pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning extended the Cajuns lead to 6-0.  Tatford led off the inning with a double to left centerfield.  Gisclair was hit by a pitch and Casbon followed with his second RBI single of the afternoon.  A double play scored the final run of the inning.

The Ragin' Cajuns put up a three spot in the bottom of the fourth.  Josh Logan started the inning off with a four-pitch walk.  A Bourque single moved Logan to second base.  A fly ball moved both runners into scoring position.  Tatford followed with a monster homerun to right centerfield.  His 10th homerun of the season landed on the track behind the baseball field and bounced over to the pole vault area.  The homer put the Cajuns up 9-0.

Arkansas-Little Rock broke onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Back-to-back doubles plated the first UALR run of the game and left the Cajuns with an eight-run edge.

The Trojans added three more runs in the bottom of sixth inning.  Arkansas-Little Rock used five singles and an error by the Cajuns to plate three runners.  The three runs cut the deficit to just five runs at 9-4.

Back-to-back doubles in the eighth inning cut the lead to 9-5, but Robichaux recorded the final five outs of the game to preserve the victory for the Cajuns.

The Ragin' Cajuns will conclude the regular season with four road games next week.  The Cajuns start the week off at Nicholls State on Tuesday before heading to New Orleans for a three-game conference series with the Privateers.  Tuesday's game with Nicholls State is 6:30 p.m.  UL and UNO will begin their series on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m.  The remaining games of the series will be Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
