UL improves to 10-6 on the year after a 5-1 victory over UTPA
SAN ANTONIO-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team downed Texas-Pan American 5-1 in San Antonio on Sunday. The win improves the Cajuns to 10-6 on the season.
The Cajuns captured victories at positions one through five. Piotrek Banas defeated Ivan Avila 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, while Dusan Tabak topped Gary Bianco 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2. Shaun Ellison captured a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Shashank Vij at No 3, and Jorge Delagado defeated David Lopez-Heredia 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4. Arlen Domoney downed Brett Berstein 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5.
The Cajuns' only loss of the day came at No. 6 after Ben Melancon fell to Nirvick Mohinta 7-5, 6-4.No doubles matches were played. The Cajuns host the Sun Belt Shootout Saturday-Sunday, March 7-8. Times are to be announced.
