Golf 9th at
Mean Green Classic
The UL golf team finished day one
of the Mean Green Classic in ninth place.

DENTON, Texas -
Louisiana-Lafayette's golf team opened the 2005-2006 golf season this afternoon
at the Cobb/Ferrell Mean Green Classic in Denton, Texas. The golf team is
currently in ninth place after 36 holes.
The Ragin' Cajuns recorded a shot a 591 as a team on the
day, just 19 shots off the lead.
The Cajuns started off the day carding a 301 as a team. In
the afternoon session the Ragin' Cajuns shaved 11 strokes off their total to
card a 290 as a team.
Individually for UL, Michael Smith is currently tied for 13th.
His rounds of 73 and 71 place him at even par for the tournament.
Mark Brockhurst and Morgan Landry also had solid days for
the Cajuns, finishing the afternoon at 147 and 148 respectively.
Spence Girouard rounded out the scoring for UL. Girouard's
rounds of 79 and 74 gave him a 153 for the day.
The Ragin' Cajuns will continue play at the Cobb/Ferrell
Mean Green Classic on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
