LAFAYETTE - The sixth-ranked Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball team will have to wait at least three more days before getting in their first doubleheader of the 2005 season.

The team had already loaded the bus at Ragin' Cajuns Softball Park here Wednesday morning when officials from Northwestern State placed a phone call to inform the Cajuns coaching staff that rain showers - expected to last for the duration of the day - had begun and that Wednesday's scheduled doubleheader between the nationally ranked Ragin' Cajuns and 10-10 Demons squad was being canceled.

It marked the second and third straight games rained out for the Cajuns who were rained out on the final day of the NFCA Leadoff Classic this past Sunday.

The games will be made up later in the season. The two coaching staffs have agreed to reschedule and will announce the makeup date in the days to come.

The Ragin' Cajuns (15-2) will attempt to return to action this Saturday as they host in-state foe Louisiana Tech at 1 p.m. in a doubleheader at Ragin' Cajuns Softball Park.
