Cajuns Begin Fall Tournament Action in Beaumont This Weekend

LAFAYETTE – The nationally ranked Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball team will be in action Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 2-3 as the team travels to participate in its annual fall tournament held at the Southeast Entertainment Complex in Beaumont, Texas.
The four-time defending Sun Belt champions will open up their fall season Saturday at 11 a.m. against Prairie View A&M and turn around to face McNeese State at 1 p.m. The Cajuns finish play on Saturday with a 5 p.m. contest against Mississippi Valley State.
Tournament play wraps up Sunday as UL Lafayette takes on Lamar-Port Arthur at 10 a.m., Mississippi Valley State at Noon and McNeese State at 4 p.m.
The Ragin' Cajuns, who began team practice on Monday, return the entire starting lineup and a total of 14 players from last season's 60-8 squad and also welcome eight newcomers.
Following this weekend's tournament the Cajuns will conclude their fall schedule Friday-Saturday, Oct. 15-16 in Spring Klein, Texas before hosting Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. at Ragin' Cajuns Softball Park.
