St. Martinville native Heather Hebert went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead SFA. Crista Hargrove led the LadyJacks with four RBI including a three-run home run in the top of the sixth that turned a 2-0 lead into a 5-0 lead.
Autry dominated the Panthers lineup, fanning eight of the first nine batters that she faced. Autry allowed just one hit in her five innings.
With the win SFA improved to 2-0 in tournament play and won its fourth straight game overall.
SFA (4-5) pushed across its first run of the game in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly RBI from Kacie Rees.
Hebert singled home one more run for SFA in the fifth to give the LadyJacks a 2-0 lead.
SFA's final four runs of the contest came off the bat of Hargrove, who hit the three-run home run in the sixth and picked up a sacrifice fly RBI in the seventh.
Prairie View (0-3) had rallies in the sixth and seventh inning, but illegal substitution calls brought both of them to a halt.
SFA is finished for the day in the tournament and will next face Missouri at 3:45 p.m. tomorrow.
Prairie View makes the quick turnaround and meets No. 10 Louisiana-Lafayette (8-1) in game five of the Mardi Gras Classics at 6 p.m.
