LAFAYETTE – For the fifth consecutive week Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball program finds itself a member of both the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association and ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 polls, both of which were released Tuesday afternoon.

Louisiana-Lafayette, coming off of a 5-2 week, fell one spot in each poll as a result of dropping the final two games of its four-game series with Florida International on Sunday afternoon.

The losses ended the Cajuns season-high 18-game win streak and 24-game Sun Belt win streak.

In the NFCA Top 25 poll, the Cajuns chimed in at No. 21 this week – tied with Illinois a week after being tied with Oregon at No. 20. UL Lafayette entered the NFCA poll on March 24 and has been ranked ever since.

In the ESPN.com poll, the Cajuns find themselves at No. 23 this week after a two week stay at No. 22. This week's ranking marked the Ragin' Cajuns third straight week in the poll.

Louisiana-Lafayette owns two wins over ranked teams this season. The Cajuns defeated No. 13/14 Florida State 3-0 and No. 17 Alabama 2-0.

The Cajuns (33-7, 10-2 Sun Belt) return to action on Thursday, April 24 when they travel to Natchitoches, La., for a 5 p.m. doubleheader with in-state rival Northwestern State to continue their season-ending 12-game road trip.
