Cajuns Softball 25th in Latest USA Today Poll

Louisiana-Lafayette posted a 3-0 record last week with a one-hit shutout of then-No. 16 and current No. 18 Alabama on Thursday and swept a twinbill from Prairie View on Friday. Thursday's one-hitter against Alabama was UL Lafayette's second straight one-hitter of a Top 20 club.
The Cajuns (18-5) garnered 39 votes this week – gaining 22 from the previous poll. UL Lafayette, who was tied for 25th last week with Florida, fell one spot behind the Gators (27-10) despite defeating a ranked team.
Louisiana-Lafayette will continue its current 16-game homestand Wednesday when its hosts in-state foe Louisiana-Monroe in a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Lady Cajun Park.
Following the ULM matchup, the Cajuns will begin defense of their back-to-back Sun Belt Conference regular season championships with a four-game series against Middle Tennessee Saturday-Sunday, April 5-6 at Lady Cajun Park.
The USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I Top 25 is voted on by 20 NCAA Division I head coaches. Records are as of March 31. First-place votes are in parentheses.
