Cajuns Shut Out Texas-Arlington 4-0
LAFAYETTE-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team extended their winning streak to three matches with a 4-0 victory over Texas-Arlington here Friday at Cajun Courts.
The Cajuns improve to 4-2 on the season, while the Mavericks drop to 3-4.
Junior Michael Tarkowski (6-1) defeated Texas-Arlington's David Corrie 6-2, 6-4. With the win, Tarkowski extended his winning streak to five matches.
UL Lafayette's Jakub Ilowski, ranked No. 71 in the nation, did not finish his match with UTA's Nathan McGregor.
In doubles, the Cajuns duo of Amanjot Singh and Evghenii Corduneanu improved to 6-1 on the season with an 8-6 victory over UTA's Javier Carrillo and Alon Goldshuv. They also extended their winning streak to five matches.
"I think today we showed that we continue to grow and improve everyday," said UL Lafayette head coach Justin McGrath. "We played with a lot of heart and I am proud of these guys."
Louisiana-Lafayette's men's tennis team returns to action Sunday when they host Lamar University in a 1:30 p.m. dual match at Cajun Courts.
