SHREVEPORT – Rebecca Swilley's goal in the 76th minute provided the difference here Thursday evening as Centenary College escaped with a 2-1 win over Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer team at Mayo Field.

Swilley's goal came at the 76:54 mark of the match and broke a 1-1 tie. She penetrated the box off a pass from Mindi Levinski and scored the match-winner.

The loss was the fourth straight for Louisiana-Lafayette (4-7-1) and extended the Cajuns winless streak to six matches. Centenary picked up its fourth straight win and evened its season record at 6-6-1.

After trailing 1-0 at the break, UL Lafayette pulled even in the second half on a goal by Kelli Good at the 57:46 mark. The goal was the second of the season for Good and snapped the Ladies' three-match shutout streak.

Centenary struck first in the opening frame on a Rebecca Wiese goal at 14:15. Sara Thompson lofted a pass over the Ragin' Cajuns backline and Wiese placed her shot into the bottom left corner of the goal.

The Ladies had a 17-8 advantage in shots and posted 10 shots on goal. UL Lafayette keeper Anna Brannon fended off several Centenary opportunities recording eight well-earned saves.

Centenary netminder Lindsey Stafford collected six saves in the winning effort for the Ladies.

The match was the final non-conference contest of the season for the Cajuns. UL Lafayette ended non-conference play with a 4-6-1 mark.

The Cajuns will play their remaining seven matches against Sun Belt schools.

Louisiana-Lafayette returns to action and concludes its current two-match road trip on Sunday in a Noon (CST) match at Florida International.
