Colbert Hills Proves Tough Test
For Cajuns The Cajuns shot a 320 in the opening round and 321 in the second round for a total of 65 strokes over par, placing them 12th overall. The top individual golfer for the Cajuns is South African native Doron Mommsen who was sitting in a tie for seventh after a first round score of 75 (+3). Mommsen shot a second round score of 81 (+9) to finish the day tied for 20th at 12 over par and trails individual leader Aaron Watkins of Kansas State by 12 strokes. Other Cajuns notables include Brett Ashmore (83-79, 162) who is tied for 44th, Theo Sliman (85-80, 165) tied for 54th, and Otto Sigurdsson (84-81, 165) also tied for 54th. New Mexico JC transfer Tobias Winberg made his first appearance as a member of the Cajuns golf team and shot an opening round 78 (+6) to go along with a second round score of 91 (+19) to finish the day in 64th place. UL Lafayette will conclude tournament action with the final round Tuesday morning. |
