Men's Tennis Falls to Tulane

CAJUN MEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO #26 TULANE
LAFAYETTE, La. – Following a nearly two-week break
from dual match play, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun men's tennis team fell to 4-12
with a disappointing 5-2 loss to Tulane at Cajun Courts Friday.
Tulane dominated early and took their first point in
the doubles competition.
The Cajuns' first two doubles team both dropped 8-5
losses to the Green Wave.
Anthony Blache and Michael Tarkowski, however, were
able to earn an 8-6 victory over Mattias Westerberg and Jorge Lievano at No. 3
doubles.
In singles, Jakub Ilowski was defeated 7-5, 6-1 by
Tulane's 23rd ranked Michael Kogan at the No. 1 spot in the lineup.
At No. 2 and 3 singles Blache and Johann van der
Westhuizen both suffered 6-4, 6-1 losses to 67th ranked Vic Romero
and Westerberg.
Tarkowski collected a 7-5, 7-6 tiebreaker from
Lievano at No. 4 singles.
The Cajuns' first point of the match came when Marc
Castellana earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Tulane's Hannu Piiroinen at No. 5
singles.
Bobby Hawkins earned the Cajuns' final point of the
night with a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Alex Dion at No. 6 singles.
The Cajuns will be back in action Sunday, Apr. 7 in
Murfreesboro, Tenn. when they take on Sun Belt Conference opponent Middle
Tennessee at 1 p.m.
