Cajuns Sweep Match Against Southeastern Louisiana

CAJUNS IMPROVE TO 2-1 WITH WIN OVER LOUISIANA-MONROE
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's
Ragin' Cajun women's tennis team took their second dual match victory Saturday
with a 6-1 win over the Indians of Louisiana-Monroe.
??????????? In
singles, Arina Uratani claimed a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Matilde Taborda for her
third straight win at the No. 1 spot in the lineup this season.
??????????? At
No. 2 singles Vinca Rampen defeated Louisiana-Monroe's Kelly Bucewicz 6-3, 6-2.
Rampen broke an eleven-match winning streak in the Cajuns' 1-6 loss against New
Orleans two weeks ago.
??????????? Amandine
Hubert and Amanda Cowieson both claimed three-set wins for the Cajuns at the
No. 3 and 4 spots in the lineup against Kaori Tanabe and Kathi Sadofsky.
??????????? Fernanda
Kompatscher gave up the only point of the match to the Indians with a 6-4, 6-1
loss to Veronica Perez at No. 5 singles.
??????????? At
the sixth spot in the lineup, Susan Linden earned her first dual match win for
the Cajuns when she defeated Carolina Souza 6-2, 6-0.
??????????? The
Cajuns were able to claim the doubles point by taking wins in all three
matches. This was the first win for all of the Cajuns' doubles teams this
season.
??????????? The
Cajuns will be back in action Tuesday when they host Southeastern Louisiana at
1:30 p.m. at Cajun Courts.
