CAJUNS SWEEP MATCH AGAINST SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's
Ragin' Cajun women's tennis team (3-1) enjoyed their third dual match victory
Tuesday with a 7-0 win at home over Southeastern Louisiana.
??????????? The
Cajuns dominated early in the match by sweeping the doubles point.
??????????? At
No. 1 doubles Arina Uratani and Vinca Rampen defeated Carina Hultqvist and
Yessica Rizelia 8-2.
??????????? Amanda
Cowieson and Amandine Hubert secured the doubles point with an 8-4 win over the
Lions' Laura Frost and Justine Vosloo at No. 2 doubles.
??????????? Freshman
newcomers Susan Linden and Fernanda Kompatscher recorded an 8-0 upset against
Codence Ellington and Lisa McLeod at the third spot in the doubles lineup.
??????????? In
singles, Rampen moved up to the first spot in the lineup and earned a 6-1, 6-1
win over Vosloo.
??????????? At
No. 2 singles Hubert fought her way to a 7-5, 7-5 tiebreaker victory against
Southeastern's Rizelia.
??????????? Cowieson
and Linden both earned 6-1, 6-1 straight-set wins over Hultqvist and McLeod at
the third and fifth spots in the singles lineup.
??????????? In
her first dual match of the spring season Robin Singh defeated Frost 6-2, 6-0
at No. 4 singles.
??????????? Finally,
Kompatscher delivered her first dual match singles victory for the Cajuns with
a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ellington.
??????????? The
Cajuns will travel to Tulane Saturday, March 2 for a noon match against the
Green Wave.
