Cajun Country Rice Gumbo Cookoff 2025
Louisiana Athletics, along with Cajun Country Rice, are excited to host the annual Gumbo Cookoff during tailgate on November 29, 2025 when the Cajuns take on ULM. Kickoff time will be announced Monday, November 17. Fans do not have to have a tailgate spot to enter and there are no restrictions on what kind of gumbo can be cooked. If you already have a tailgate spot, you will cook in your spot. If you do not have a tailgate spot, you can purchase a 30x30 tailgate spot for $100, or you will be assigned a 10x10 cooking spot in one of our tailgate lots for free.
Gates will open at 7am on Saturday. Once kickoff time is announced, participants will receive an email with a time for all entries to be brought to the judges table, located next to alumni tailgating at Russo Park. The winner will be recognized during the game and will receive a custom engraved gumbo paddle courtesy of Cajun Country Rice! Enter your gumbo today! Deadline to enter is Thursday, November 20, 2025 at noon with a maximum of 30 teams able to participate.
