Cajuns Accept Bid To CIT; Will Face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi On Wednesday

Cajuns head to postseason for fourth time in past five years
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team accepted a berth in the 2016 CollegeInsider.com Tournament and will host Southland Conference opponent Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday (March 16) at the Cajundome.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast in the Lafayette area on Hot 107.9-FM and RaginCajuns.com.

Season ticket holders will receive first priority to purchase tickets. They will be able to purchase their regular-season seat locations until 12 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday (March 15). These tickets may be purchased on-line through their Account Manager at RaginCajuns.com, by calling the Cajundome Box Office (800) 745-3000, or visiting the Cajundome Box Office beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Individual tickets, which will officially go on sale to the public at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, are $30 (Courtside), $15 (First and Second levels), $10 (second level curves) and $7 (student companion). The first 1,000 UL students will be admitted free, courtesy of Coca Cola and Buffalo Wild Wings, by presenting a valid University ID.

Louisiana (17-14), making its fourth trip to the postseason in the past five years, will participate in the CIT for the third time since 2012. The Ragin' Cajuns hosted Rice in 2012 Cajundome before reaching the CIT quarterfinals last season, falling to eventual champion Evansville at Blackham Coliseum.

A&M-Corpus Christi (25-7), which lost in the championship game of last week's Southland Conference Tournament, is making its third consecutive appearance in the CIT after reaching the second round the previous two seasons. Last season the Islanders defeated Florida Gulf Coast to earn its first 20-win season under head coach Willis Wilson.

This year's CIT features a 26-team field with all games being played at campus sites. The first round of the CIT will take place March 14-16 followed by the second round March 18-20. The CIT Quarterfinals are scheduled for March 22-24 with the semifinals on March 27 and the CIT Championship Game on March 29.

Both the semifinals and Championship Game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
