Jan. 23 doubleheader against Troy part of 99-game schedule
NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced on Thursday its largest television package ever for men's and women's basketball for the 2015-16 season. ESPN3 will carry 99 games, including a combined eight Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's basketball contests, during the 2015-16 season to go along with two nationally-televised rivalry games on ESPN2.
Sun Belt Conference doubleheaders for the Ragin' Cajuns at Georgia Southern (Jan. 14, 2016), Georgia State (Jan. 16, 2016) and Appalachian State (Feb. 4, 2016) will be televised on ESPN3 along with the Ragin' Cajuns home doubleheader on Jan. 23 against Troy.
The two Tuesday night clashes to be televised on ESPN2 will be UT Arlington at Texas State on Feb. 9, 2016, and Georgia State at Georgia Southern on Feb. 23, 2016.
On-campus productions delivered on ESPN3 offer unique opportunities for students and staff at each Sun Belt Conference member institution in live-game production. ESPN3 is streamed live on WatchESPN platforms across computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices. It is accessible to more than 99 million households to fans with an affiliated internet or video provider.
The 2016 Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Championship tips-off on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 with game one of the women's tournament at 11:30 a.m. (CST). The women's basketball championship game is set for a 7 p.m. (CST) tip-off on Saturday, March 12. The men's tournament begins on Thursday, March 10 at 5 p.m. (CST) with the championship game slated for Selection Sunday (March 13) and a 12 p.m. (CST) tip. The men's championship game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and all other games of the men's and women's tournaments will be carried by ESPN3.
Both the men's and women's championship tournaments will take place at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, La. The top eight teams in the standings will advance to the championship tournaments with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds on the men's side earning byes to the semifinals and the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds earning byes to the quarterfinal rounds.
Both the men's and women's team will tip off their exhibition season on Monday, Nov. 9 with a doubleheader at the Cajundome. The women's team will host LSU-Alexandria at 5 p.m. with the men's team facing Mississippi College at 7:15.
The regular-season officially tips off for the men's team on Nov. 13 against Louisiana College in the Cajundome with the women's regular-season home opener set for Nov. 19 against Southern-New Orleans at Earl K. Long Gym.
