The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2010-11 Team Academic Awards on Thursday, and the Ragin' Cajuns soccer team was one of the teams honored marking back-to-back seasons on the list.
“I am very proud of the girls to say the least, being a complete student athlete is what they pride themselves on,” head soccer coach Scot Wieland said. “Their character both in the classroom and on the field is amazing, and to earn a National Team Academic Award is great team accomplishment.”
A total of 787 soccer teams (219 men, 568 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2010-11 academic year.
The Ragin' Cajuns soccer team boasted a 3.26 cumulative team GPA to earn the honor.
