@RaginCajunsBSB Falls In Series Finale To No. 15 Coastal Carolina

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana baseball team had its four-game win streak snapped as the Ragin' Cajuns fell to No. 15 Coastal Carolina 10-3 in the series finale on Sunday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
 
The loss moves the Cajuns (28-21, 14-10 SBC) a half game behind Little Rock for the Sun Belt Conference West Division lead.
 
Sophomore right-hander Jack Burk dropped to 3-5 on the year after giving up four runs on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 1.1 innings.
 
Reliever Matt Eardensohn claimed the victory for the Chanticleers (32-16, 18-6 SBC) tossing 3.2 scoreless innings while limiting the Cajuns to one hit and one walk with two strikeouts.
 
LEADING THE CAJUNS
 
Junior Hunter Kasuls led Louisiana offensively going 3-for-4 at the plate with a walk and three RBI. Freshman Hayden Cantrelle also reached four times in the game going 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, while junior Daniel Lahare improved his season average to .326 with a 2-for-4 effort.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The Chanticleers got out to an early lead in the top of the first on a two-out, two-run single to right field by Lee Sponseller.
 
Louisiana cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom half of the first on an RBI single through the left side of the infield by Hunter Kasuls.
 
Coastal Carolina increased its advantage to 4-1 in the top of the second inning on a two-run double to right field by Seth Lancaster.
 
Zach Biermann gave the Chants a 7-1 lead in the top of the fourth on a three-run homer to right field.
 
Coastal added a run in the fifth inning and two more in the eighth to make the score 10-1.
 
Kasuls brought home the final runs of the game in the bottom of the ninth on a two-out, two-run single to left center to make the final 10-3.
 
UP NEXT
 
Louisiana returns to action next Friday, May 11 at 6 p.m. at Texas State in the first of three games at Bobcat Ballpark. Game two of the series is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday, while the two teams close out the weekend with a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday.
