Ragin' Cajuns Have Strong Showing At Pro Day

LAFAYETTE – 17 former Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football players, highlighted by defensive back Tracy Walker, worked out for scouts from 24 NFL teams and one CFL team on Thursday during Pro Day at the Moncla Indoor Practice Facility.

Walker, who finished ranked third all-time in Ragin' Cajuns history for tackles by a defensive back (276 tackles), only took part in the individual drills after a great performance at both the Reese's Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Ind.

Walker was joined at Pro Day by former Ragin' Cajuns, Chris Collins, Raynard Ford, Darius Hoggins, Denarius Howard, Jarvis Jeffries, Taboris Lee, Troy McCollum, Kevon Perry, T.J. Posey, Devin Scott, Simeon Thomas, Levarious Varnado and 2016 members Jacoby Briscoe, Savion Brown and Mark Mornay.

Players began the day by being measured for height and weight. They then worked their way through three events in the weight room that included the vertical jump, the broad jump and the 225-point bench press.Â

Following those events, the players then moved to the field in the indoor practice facility where they competed in the 40-yard dash, 20 and 60-yard shuttle runs and three-cone drills. The day concluded with individual drills for the both the offensive and defensive positions.
