Sliman's Thoughts
"All in all, it's unfortunate that we are not competing in match play for the championship. The first round killed us with shooting 28-over par. I'm proud of the way the guys fought back in the last two rounds. We will return this entire group next year. We had lots of ups and downs this season. The hope is that we can work to eliminate the downs and come back ready to compete for a championship.
"I'm excited with the future of this program. I'd like to thank the administration and supporters for everything they've done this year. I look forward to getting our new guys in this summer and getting to work for next season as we will have a very talented group."
Elston Finishes In Top 25
Junior Triston Elston notched his third top 25 finish of the season placing in a tie for 21st at 7-over par (220) with a round of 71 (E) in the final round. Elston has four career top 25 finishes and his first at the SBC Championship.
Tolson Fires Round Under Par
Sophomore Jack Tolson registered a 69 (-2) in the final round to finish just outside of the top 25 in a tie for 26th at 9-over (222). Tolson got off to a hot start with three birdies in the first seven holes of the day. The 69 marks the eighth round that Tolson has posted in the 60s this season.
