LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team continues its weeklong homestand on Friday at 6 p.m. as the Cajuns host West Division leader Little Rock in a three-game series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

Game two of the series between the Ragin' Cajuns and Trojans is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, while the two sides close out the weekend with the series finale on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Series

The Ragin' Cajuns own a 55-20 lead in the all-time series against Little Rock after sweeping the Trojans on the road a year ago. The Cajuns took both games of a doubleheader to open the series last year winning 9-4 and 7-4 before finishing off the sweep of Little Rock with a 5-3 victory in the series finale.

Louisiana is 50-19 all-time against the Trojans under head coach Tony Robichaux including a 26-7 mark at home.

The Ragin' Cajuns had a streak of 13 straight home wins against Little Rock snapped two years ago as the Trojans won the final two games of the series 10-5 and 7-1 after the Cajuns opened the series with a 15-4 victory.

Scouting Louisiana

Louisiana (20-18, 8-7 SBC) had its five-game win streak snapped with a 15-2 loss to Louisiana Tech in the midweek. The Cajuns claimed their only sweep of the season last weekend with three wins at Appalachian State.

The Ragin' Cajuns rank first in the Sun Belt in fielding (.979) and fourth in pitching (3.96) coming into the series.

Offensively, Louisiana is hitting .223 with 52 doubles, eight triples and 10 home runs. Freshman Hayden Cantrelle is hitting .357 with a .415 on base percentage in conference play, while Gavin Bourgeois paces the squad on the season with a .292 average, 10 doubles, one home run and 15 RBI.

Scouting Little Rock

Little Rock (20-15, 9-5 SBC) comes into the series having lost a close 3-2 decision to Northwestern State in the midweek. The Trojans also picked up a conference sweep last weekend defending ULM at home.

Chase Coker leads the team hitting .313 with five doubles, four triples, two home runs and 12 RBI. Troy Alexander is second on the club in average batting .305 with a team-best 29 RBI and five home runs.

Little Rock ranks third in the Sun Belt with a .974 fielding percentage and is fifth in pitching with a 4.36 ERA. The Trojans are hitting .258 as a team with 26 home runs while averaging 4.4 runs per game.

Louisiana opens a five-game week on the road at Louisiana Tech with a 6 p.m. contest in Ruston, La. Following the matchup with the Bulldogs, the Cajuns will host New Orleans on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Russo Park before heading to Georgia State for a three game series next weekend.
