Cajuns Golf Wraps Up Regular Season at Old Waverly Collegiate Championship

WEST POINT, Miss. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team will tee off in its final regular season event on Monday at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship held at the par-72, 7,000-yard Old Waverly Golf Club.

Teams will play 36 holes on the first day with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The final round is slated for an 8 a.m. start on Tuesday with players starting off of holes one and ten.

The Field

Host Mississippi State is joined by Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Louisiana, LSU, Louisiana Tech, McNeese, Memphis, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, South Alabama, South Florida and ULM in the 15-team field.

Three teams are ranked in the Golfstat Top 50 including No. 10 LSU, No. 20 South Florida and No. 34 Ole Miss.

Louisiana is paired with Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss for the first two rounds. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.

The Lineup

Sophomore Jack Tolson leads the team with a 73.70 scoring average through 27 rounds with seven rounds in the 60s this year. Tolson is joined by Triston Elston, Bjorn Gudjonsson, Peter Hinnant and Cole Kendrick in the lineup.

Triston Elston comes into the tournament with a 73.96 scoring average carding seven rounds of par or better.

Last Time Out

Louisiana claimed its first tournament team title since 2013 winning the Lake Charles Invitational with an overall score of 14-under par. Tolson also notched individual medalist honors with the best 54-hole score in program history posting a score of 15-under par.

Gudjonsson also had his best career performance at Lake Charles finishing third with a three-round score of 8-under par.
