Ragin' Cajuns prepare to start busy month with season-opening meet in Lake Charles
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team will officially open its outdoor season on Saturday when it travels to Lake Charles to compete at the McNeese Cowboy Relays at the McNeese Track and Field Complex.

Action begins at 9 a.m., with live results available at RaginCajuns.com. Louisiana will be joined in the meet by host McNeese, Alcorn State, Dillard, Louisiana College, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Texas Southern, ULM, Valparaiso, Wiley College, Xavier (La.) and Wiley College.

The Ragin' Cajuns open a busy month of action starting with Saturday's season-opening meet followed by the annual Louisiana Classics that is scheduled for March 16-17 at the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Complex. Louisiana will close out the month competing at the Clyde Littlefield NIKE Texas Relays and the Bobcat Relays from March 29-April 1.

Claire Meyers, who finished fourth in the javelin at last year's Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, will make her 2018 debut for Louisiana along with teammate Madison Meche. Courtney Musgrove and Claire Hodges will look to build off successful campaigns during the indoor season when the duo competes in the women's 1,500-meter run

Tisay Woodhouse, who set the indoor school record in the women's weight throw, will compete in both the discus and hammer throw for Louisiana with senior Taylor Walker slated to compete in the triple jump.

The trio of Kyle Baudoin, Matt Wilson and Matthew Standridge look to build off a successful indoor season in the pole vault for Louisiana with Tyler Hughes competing in the 110-meter hurdles

Sophomore Damon Guidry makes his 2018 outdoor debut in the high jump for Louisiana with Richard Delphin competing in both the hammer throw and discus, and decathlete Angus Sinclair scheduled to compete in both the high jump and discus.
