Louisiana Golf Gets Off To Slow Start At Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team couldn't overcome a slow start on Friday as the squad finished the first day of the Border Olympics in 17th place with a two-round score of 16-over par (592) at the par 72, 7,375-yard Laredo Country Club.

Arkansas State leads the field after 36 holes with an overall score of 9-under (567). Sam Houston State's William Holcomb and Camdan DeBonis are tied for the individual lead at 8-under (136).

Tolson And Elston Play Even In Second Round
Â
Junior Triston Elston and sophomore Jack Tolson closed out the day on a strong note posting rounds of even par in the second round. Both had three birdies in the round, while Tolson finished out his final six holes of the day with no bogies and two birdies.
