LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Football has received a signed National Letter of Intent from All-Nebraska defensive tackle Masry Mapieu, adding him to the roster for the 2018 season.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Mapieu comes to Louisiana from York (Neb.) High School and joins the 16 other individuals who signed NLIs in February in Billy Napier's initial recruiting class.

Mapieu, a three-star prospect, also received offers from UCLA, Iowa, Iowa State and Nebraska.

As a senior at York HS, he helped lead the team to the Class B state title and earned first team Super State honors. He was twice named to the Omaha World-Herald's All-Nebraska team, landing on the list in 2016 and 2017.

Mapieu was listed as the second-best player in the state of Nebraska in the 2018 class by Rivals.com and the 33rd best defensive tackle in the entire class. He entered his senior season with 72 career tackles, accumulating 30-plus each the previous two seasons.
