Tolson’s Career Day Lands Cajuns Golf In Lead At Lake Charles Invitational

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Sophomore Jack Tolson became the first Louisiana golfer since 1993 to post a 36-hole score of 11-under par (133) on Monday at the Lake Charles Invitational to end the day in first place at the par-72, 6,869-yard Country Club at the Golden Nugget golf course.
As a team, the Ragin' Cajuns are also in first place with a two-round score of 7-under (569) and have a five stroke lead over No. 39 Marquette.
Tolson's Career Day
Jack Tolson had just one blemish in his first round carding six birdies to post a career-best round of 67 (-5) in the morning. Tolson then bested his morning round with a 66 (-6) in the afternoon with seven birdies and one bogey. Tolson has a two stroke lead over Texas State's Logan Davis for the individual title.
Gudjonsson Tied For 4th
Freshman Bjorn Gudjonsson sits in a tie for fourth place with a 36-hole score of 4-under (140). Gudjonsson had just one blemish on his card in the first round, and then fired a career-low round of 69 (-3) in the afternoon with an eagle and three birdies.
Abundance Of Birdies
Louisiana carded 31 birdies as a team in the first two rounds of the Lake Charles Invitational. Tolson led the way with 13 birdies, while Triston Elston was second with six. Gudjonsson and Peter Hinnant each had five birdies on the day.
Final Round
