The Series

Louisiana trails LSU 54-25 in the all-time series having won just twice in the last 10 meetings. The Cajuns got a walk-off winner from freshman Jonathan Windham in the 10th inning against LSU earlier this season with a 4-3 victory at Russo Park on March 7. The Ragin' Cajuns are 10-20 all-time against the Tigers under head coach Tony Robichaux.

This is fourth straight year that the two teams are meeting in the Wally Pontiff Jr. Classic and the fifth time overall as LSU has won all four previous meetings in Metairie. All four of the Wally Pontiff Jr. Classic games have been decided by four or less runs with the Cajuns coming up short 3-2 last year.

Freshman Hayden Cantrelle is currently on a seven-game hit streak which ties junior Gavin Bourgeios for the best streak this season. Cantrelle has his average up to .238 on the season hitting .435 (10-for-23) in the last seven games.

Bourgeois continues to lead the Cajuns in average batting .311 with five doubles and nine RBI. Kennon Fontenot moved into the team lead in RBI over the weekend with 14 on the year.
