LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to close out its five-game road swing on Wednesday at 6 p.m. as the squad heads to McNeese for a non-conference matchup at Joe Miller Ballpark.

The Series

Louisiana holds a 93-64 lead in the all-time series with McNeese after winning both meetings a year ago. The Ragin' Cajuns have won five of the last six meetings in Lake Charles.

The Cajuns are 30-16 all-time against the Cowboys with head coach Tony Robichaux at the helm.

Scouting Louisiana

The Ragin' Cajuns (8-11) are coming off of a series loss to Georgia Southern after dropping a close 5-4 decision in the series finale. The Cajuns posted a season-high for both runs and hits in an 11-2 victory over the Eagles on Saturday and outhit Georgia Southern in all three contests.

Louisiana has fared well in the midweek this season going 3-1 with wins over LSU and Tulane.

Junior Gavin Bourgeois continues to lead the club offensively hitting .307 with a .381 on base percentage and six RBI. Both Hunter Kasuls and Kennon Fontenot are tied for the team lead with 12 RBI, while Kasuls has six extra base hits on the year with three doubles, a triple and two home runs.

Scouting McNeese

McNeese (8-11) is currently on a six-game win streak after sweeping Stephen F. Austin on the road last weekend. The Cowboys are 4-7 at home this season including wins over Mississippi State and Houston in the midweek.

Offensively, McNeese is hitting .232 with 25 doubles, three triples and 16 home runs. Shane Selman has a team-best .333 average with six doubles, six home runs and 15 RBI. The Cowboys have three players on the squad with double-digit RBI this year.
