Play Suspended In 2nd Round Of Old Waverly Collegiate

WEST POINT, Miss. – After a late start due to heavy rains, play at the first day of the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship was suspended due to darkness in the second round at Old Waverly Golf Course.
Louisiana is in a tie for sixth with Southeastern Louisiana and Austin Peay after the first round with a score of 3-over par (291).
Cincinnati leads the event at 4-under (284), while South Alabama (-2, 286), Florida (+1, 289), Mississippi (+1, 289) and No. 37 Memphis (+2, 290) round out the top five teams.
Sophomore Haraldur Magnus continued his hot play carding a score of 69 (-3) to sit in a tie for second after the first 18 holes.
Lawrence Allan of Southeastern Louisiana leads the individual field after the first round shooting a 68 (-4).
Both Ross Davis and Fernando Cruz Valle are tied for 22nd at 1-over (73). Thomas Strandemo rounded out the scoring for the Cajuns in a tie for 58th at 4-over (76).
Play will resume tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with the third round to follow the competition of the second round. Live scoring for the tournament is available on Golfstat.com.
