Final tuneup for Louisiana before Sun Belt Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team returns to action beginning Friday when it heads east to compete in the Samford Multi and Invitational at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The event, which concludes on Saturday, is the final tune-up for the Ragin' Cajuns prior to the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships, scheduled for Feb. 24-25, in the same venue. Action begins with field events at 9:30 a.m. with multi events slated to start at 2 p.m. , and track events at 6.
Justin Victor has paced the Ragin' Cajuns on the men's side, winning three events in the weight throw, including a school-record toss of 67 feet, 4.75 inches two weeks ago at the A-State Invitational. Devin Davis (long jump), Dionte Heath (high jump) and Ricky Theyard (triple jump) have ranked among the leaders in the Sun Belt Conference.
Logan Pearce (5,000 meters), Cole Stafford (3,000 meters), Matt Rice (800 meters) and Morgan Cormier (60-meter hurdles) have been the Cajuns' top runners through the first three events.
Morgan Breaux (60 meters, 200 meters), Danielle Castaldi (800 meters), Anna Katherine Devitt (Mile Run, 3,000 meters), and Claire Hodges (Mile Run, 3,000 meters) have led the Ragin' Cajuns on the track with Ta'Shania Bean (long jump), Tarvia Conway (triple jump), Meredith Driskell (pole vault), Lindsey Harmon (high jump) and Jana Jones (shot put, weight throw) leading the team in field events.
