16 Baseball & Softball Games To Be Televised By MyKLAF

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Eight baseball and eight softball games will be televised this spring as part of a promotional agreement between MyKLAF-TV and the Louisiana athletic department. The package was announced on Tuesday.
This will be the 14th spring that MyKLAF-TV will televise Ragin' Cajuns baseball games and the 10th doing softball games..
One change in 2014 will add increased availability to the package as for the first time, ESPN3 will stream 14 of the 16 games online, making them available to Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns fans around the world. The games will however be blacked out online in the Lafayette, area.
"With both our softball and baseball teams currently being ranked in the Top 20, all signs point to another great spring ahead for them and I want to thank MyKLAF-TV for helping bring their accomplishments to our fans," Louisiana athletic director Scott Farmer said.
"It was important to us that we expand the availability of these games this year and MyKLAF stepped up to make that happen. Our fans worldwide owe them thanks."
"MyKLAF-TV is proud to once again televise Ragin Cajun baseball and softball games to the eight parishes in the Acadiana," MyKLAF-TV general manager Tom Shannon said. "We are also happy to make these games available outside of the area so that Louisiana fans and alumni can follow all of the exciting baseball and softball action that MyKLAF-TV will be broadcasting through our partnership with ESPN3."
The package begins on Saturday, March 1 when MyKLAF airs the second game of a three-game baseball series against Alabama, a team that won 35 games and earned a spot in the NCAA Baseball Championship field. Also included in the package are games against regional rivals Tulane (April 1), New Orleans (April 8) and McNeese State (April 22), and Sun Belt opponents Georgia State (March 22), WKU (March 29), Texas State (April 26) and ULM (May 17).
The softball package kicks off the first week of March when back-to-back games against McNeese State (March 5) and Lamar (March 6) are broadcast. The package also includes doubleheaders against No. 18 Oklahoma (March 15), South Alabama (April 12) and ULM (May 3) being broadcast.
The only games not included on the ESPN3 lineup will be the softball twinbill against Oklahoma on March 15.
