JONESBORO, Ark. – The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team is set to face Sun Belt Conference foe Arkansas State on Saturday at noon at Allen Park.
Louisiana (3-2) is coming off of a 4-1 win over in-state opponent Xavier (La.) on Wednesday.
"We have five matches under our belt coming off a solid win earlier this week versus Xavier under extremely tough conditions," head coach Greg Harkins said. "This time will be no different. We are headed to Jonesboro knowing that the Red Wolves will be prepared for conference play."
Arkansas State (0-1) has had three matches postponed this spring due to weather. The Red Wolves lost their lone match of the season thus far dropping a 6-1 decision to Murray State. The Cajuns defeating Arkansas State 6-1 a year ago at home.
"Arkansas State pushed us last season," Harkins added. "The doubles and singles play was closely contested. Coach (Marina) Engelbrecht's squad has a lot of experience and was successful this fall.
"Being on the road it will be important to get out in front and control the match. This road trip will be an opportunity to apply the lessons we have learned from our last road trip."
After the match at Arkansas State, the Cajuns head home for a pair of matches at Cajun Courts starting with a 1 p.m. match on Tuesday, Feb. 18 against Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.
