LAFAYETTE – Off to its best start since the 1990 campaign, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team opens Sun Belt Conference play on Friday when it travels to San Marcos, Texas to face league newcomer Texas State at Strahan Coliseum.

First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Live statistics, live audio and a live video stream (subscription required) will be available on the volleyball schedule page at RaginCajuns.com.

After facing Texas State (10-5) on Friday, the Ragin' Cajuns will conclude the opening weekend of league play on Saturday when they face another league newcomer – UT Arlington (7-6) – in a 7 p.m. contest at College Park Center on the UTA campus.

Louisiana (10-4), which posted the best non-conference record among Sun Belt schools, returns to action after competing last week at the Ole Miss Rebel Classic in Oxford, Miss. The Ragin' Cajuns earned wins over Chattanooga and Southern Miss before dropping a four-set match against Ole Miss in the finale.

Lavinia Tataran leads the Ragin' Cajuns on offense, averaging 3.02 kills per set, which is sixth in the Sun Belt Conference. Sara Mossakowski (2.78) ranks ninth in the league in kills per set with Andrea Hole ranking third in the Sun Belt with 10.39 assists.

Mossakowski (0.40), Taylor Meade (0.39) and Hole (0.32) rank among the top six players in the league in service aces. Freshman Chanelle Gardner is third in the SBC in blocks (1.12) and junior Caitlyn Auxilien is sixth in the conference with 4.20 digs per set.
