CAJUN UPDATE:  The Cajuns improved to 34-11 and 13-4 in the Sun Belt with two wins over the weekend with a doubleheader sweep on Sunday, April 21, after a rain out the day before.  Jordan Wallace tossed an eight-inning no-hitter in the first game for her second career no-hitter in a 1-0 victory in game one and the Cajuns bats showed up for game two, winning 8-4.

THE TROJANS: The Trojans are 20-27 overall on the season and 7-11 in Sun Belt play, sitting in seventh in the conference.  Offensively they are led by Caitlin Ortiz, a senior infielder batting a team-high .348 on the season with 28 RBI and three home runs while scoring 14.  In the circle they are led by the duo of Rachel Rigney and Michaela Hamilton.  Rigney has started a team-high 17 games and appeared in 33, holding a 8-13 record with a 4.24 ERA and three saves.  Hamilton is 5-5 in ten starts and 17 appearances with a 3.89 ERA.  The Cajuns took 2-of-3 from Troy last season.

NO-HITTER WITH A LITTLE EXTRA: Jordan Wallace tossed an extra-inning no-hitter in the opener against FAU in the Cajuns' 1-0 win.  She struck out 12 batters, walked one and hit one for her second career no-hitter.  She was the first pitcher in the NCAA to toss a no-hitter in extra-innings and pick up a win.  Erin Greenwalt of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville threw an eight-inning no-hitter against Detroit, but was the hard luck loser in a 1-0 game, when the international tiebreaker came into effect, which places a runner on second to start an inning.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING: The Cajuns are in the midst of a season-high 16 game winning streak, dating back to South Alabama on March 17.  They have seen six series sweeps in that time, with three-game sweeps coming against FIU, North Texas and Middle Tennessee.

WALLACE IN THE STREAK: Jordan Wallace has been a huge factor in the Cajuns' current winning streak.  She holds a 12-0 record with one save in 10 starts and 15 total appearances with a 0.89 ERA and 133 strikeouts.  She has a strikeout to walk ratio of 5.32 and has thrown 71.0 innings, allowing just six extra-base hits.  She has held opponents to a .127 batting average, allowing just 31 hits.

HAACK ATTACK: Matte Haack continued an impressive stint at the plate with a three-RBI game against FAU on Sunday.  During the Cajun's current winning streak, Haack has batted .413 (19-for-46) with six home runs and 16 RBI over the 16 game period.

QUADRUPLE DOUBLE: With Matte Haack's home run on Sunday, April 21, the Cajuns now have four players with double-digit home runs on the season (Landry 14, Draheim 12, Cherry 10, Haack 10).  It is the fifth time in the Lotief Era that the Cajuns have had four players reach double-digit home runs.  It also happened in 2006, 2004, 2003 and 2002.  Never in the Lotief Era has a team had five players reach double-digit's in home runs.  Nerissa Myers is the next closest with six on the season, five of which have came in the past 12 games.

LET'S GET IT STARTED: The Cajuns have scored in the first inning in 27-of-45 games this season, and are 22-5 in those games.  The Cajuns have scored first in 34-of-45 games and hold a record of 27-7 when scoring first.  Before the FAU series, the Cajuns had scored runs in the first inning in twelve straight games.  They have scored in the first inning 13 times in the last 18 games.

DRIVING THEM IN: Three Cajuns rank in the top five in runs batted in the Sun Belt Conference. Shellie Landry leads the conference with 51, Sarah Draheim is in third with 48 and Matte Haack is in fifth with 44.  Shellie Landry ranks 17th in the nation with 1.16 RBI per game.

FIRST-YEAR FOCUS: With three freshmen in the starting lineup for every game this season, the future is bright for the Cajuns.  Shellie Landry, Sara Corbello and Samantha Walsh have had a strong impact on the team in their first year of competition, combining for 23 HR and 98 RBI.  First-year players as a whole are batting .290 on the season (136-for-469) with 109 RBI, 26 HR, and 92 runs scored.  Last season a veteran Cajuns squad didn't send a freshman to the plate.

HOME RUNS...HOME RUNS EVERYWHERE: The Cajuns have hit 66 home runs on the season and lead the Sun Belt Conference.  As a team, the Cajuns rank seventh in the nation in home runs per game with 1.47 as of April 22.  Individually, the Cajuns have four batters in the top seven in the conference, leader Shellie Landry has 14, Sarah Draheim is tied at second with 12, and Brianna Cherry and Matte Haack are in a four-way tie for fourth with 10.
