LAFAYETTE, La. – After hosting the 28th Annual Louisiana Classics a week ago, the Ragin' Cajuns golf team struggled mightily at Squire Creek Golf Club finishing in tenth place after 36-holes on Monday.
Freshman Ross Davis was the lone Cajuns golfer to post a round of even-par or better bouncing back from a morning round score of 78 to card a 72 in the second round. The Baton Rouge, La. native is tied for 26th at six-over par (150).
Davis is joined by senior Brandt Garon in a tie for 26th at six-over (150). Garon tallied a 75 in both rounds.
As a team, Louisiana posted a two-round score of 35-over par (611) and is six shots back of Jacksonville State for ninth place.
No.15 LSU and No.32 North Texas are tied for the team lead at two-under par (574). Both teams had a strong second round with the Mean Green posting a team-best round of seven-under in the afternoon round.
Louisiana Tech (+7, 583), Texas State (+18, 594), UALR (+22, 598) and Southern Miss (+22, 598) round out the top 5 teams after day one.
