NEW ORLEANS – For the second time in three weeks, Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns volleyball standout Andrea Hole was selected on Monday as the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week in a release by the league office.
In two matches during the week, Hole averaged 11.67 assists per set and helped Louisiana (19-13) to a split in conference matches against UT Arlington and UALR.
Hole, who earned SBC Setter of the Week honors on Nov. 4, opened the week with 58 assists, two blocks and career-highs in digs (25) and service aces (4) in a five-set loss to UTA last Friday. The junior came back two days later in the regular-season finale against UALR and handed out 47 assists and 10 digs – notching her 17th double-double of the season and helping the Ragin' Cajuns to a four-set victory.
In her first season as the Cajuns' starting setter, Hole is currently ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference with 10.54 assists on the season. Hole has dished out 1,086 assists on the season while directing a Ragin' Cajun offense that ranks fourth in kills per set (12.95) and fifth in hitting percentage (.210).
Hole currently ranks fifth in assists among Ragin' Cajun setters since 2001 with 1,329 assists and is six shy of passing former Cajun Connie Byrnes (1,334, 2001-02) for fourth place.
Louisiana, the No. 6 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, will open play on Thursday against third-seeded Texas State (21-12) in a 2:30 p.m. match at Trojan Arena.
