Women's Hoops Set to Host Three Sets of Camps This Summer

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Women's Basketball program is set to offer three different camps this summer, first-year head coach Garry Brodhead announced on Thursday.
Joining Brodhead on the camp staff will be assistant coaches Sallie Guillory, Jennifer Sullivan, Deacon Jones and current and former members of the UL women's basketball team.
The first camp is “Garry Brodhead's Ragin' Cajuns Camp of the Stars,” which runs from June 4-7.
The camp will last from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to kindergarteners all the way up to eighth graders. The kids will participate in several drills, including passing, dribbling, shooting and defense, along with three-on-three and five-on-five scrimmages. The cost of the three-day camp is $145.
The Cajuns then will hold a Team Camp, which will take place from June 14-16 and is open to junior high, high school and AAU teams.
Teams may sign up for one day at a $180, two days for $300 or all three days for $450. For more information on this camp call (337) 258-0279.
The final camp will be a Positions Camp on June 23 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is open to grades six through 12.
This camp is aimed to improve participant's fundamentals as a basketball player. The cost of the camp is $55.
"We are really excited about our first summer of camps here in Lafayette,” Brodhead said. “This is a great opportunity for our coaching staff and players to work with the young girls in the area and help to develop them into better basketball players and young women."
"This is also a chance to show off our facilities and everything else we have to offer here at UL and share our vision of Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball with the community of Lafayette."
All camps will be held at Earl K. Long Gym, located on West St. Mary's St. on the UL main campus.
