Wallace Garners Second Straight SBC Pitcher of the Week Award

LAFAYETTE, La. – UL freshman pitcher Jordan Wallace was named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Wallace earned her second consecutive Pitcher of the Week accolades and fourth of the season.
The right-handed hurler picked up two wins over the weekend and improved her record to 23-0. She is off to the best start for a freshman pitcher to begin her collegiate career in NCAA history. The Weatherford, Texas, native notched her 16th complete game of the season in a 2-1 win on Saturday, allowing one run, on two-hits and fanning three. Wallace came in for relief in the final game of the series on Sunday, tossing six innings, while surrendering just one hit and striking out six.
Wallace was also named by College Sports Madness as the Sun Belt Player of the Week for the second time.
The No. 6/7 Cajuns are coming off a 3-0 weekend at Western Kentucky, where they clinched their 12th SBC Regular Season Championship in the 13-year history of the league. It marked the fifth straight year UL has won the title and the Ragin' Cajuns will be the No. 1 overall seed in next week's SBC Conference Championship.
The Ragin' Cajuns conclude the regular season against La.- Monroe in a three game series next weekend, May 5-6 at Lamson Park.
